I am professionally trained medical illustrator with a Master of Science in Medical Illustration and undergraduate degrees in Physiology and Studio Art. I specialize in anatomical and surgical illustration for a wide range of media and audiences. I have previously worked in various academic medical settings combining the roles of illustrator, photographer, teacher and designer.
I am currently a Medical Illustrator for the Neurosurgery Department at Medical College of Georgia. Fun facts about me:
- I am an avid triathlete. I have been competing in triathlons since I was a kid and have competed in about a dozen national championship events as well as world championship events, placing at the top of my age group. - My pursuit of continued learning expands past the life sciences. I have developed an interested in maps and recent world political history, I can now determine roughly the year that a map was made in the last 150 years! |

Educational Background
I completed a MSc with distinction in Medical Art from University of Dundee. My thesis project titled "Auscultation: The Art of Listening" has been implemented into the curriculum at Ninewells Teaching Hospital, UK as well as UCSI University, Malaysia. This project received the Artivay Community Impact award for providing an accessible and comprehensive platform to reinforce understanding of auscultation away from the classroom. This award is one of two awards given to Medical Art Graduates based on their dissertation projects.
Prior to attending University of Dundee, I attended University of Colorado where I received a BA in Integrative Physiology, BFA in Digital Arts and a minor in Art History. My background has equipped me well to approach visual communication problems with all the tools needed to find an impactful solution.
